I think that's pretty common for Indian weddings, though. They're not one and done, 1 hr in a church followed by 4 hours of drinking and then boom, over. Which makes me want to go to one, at some point, but be glad I don't have to go through several days of being surrounded by everyone I've ever met in enforced group activities, lol.
But Joe and Sophie are going to ruin it later with their fancy wedding in France, to which I say PAH, AMATEURS.
Fancy weddings cost so much money that I would rather spend on a honeymoon. Or like 12 honeymoons. People spend on weddings what I make in a year, and that's not even super rich people, like the ones whose names end in Jonas. I throw parties pretty much every week, good parties don't have to cost that much.
Will you still be smiling if I told you she wants you to come over for Mother's Day weekend with me? (I know you might be busy with your own mom, it's fine.)
Even if we'll be staying in a rental cabin on Lake Pontchartrain with iffy wifi and there's nothing to do but sit on the porch and watch the water and listen to us gossip about our relatives?
Well, I do want to hear gossip about you. And I couldn't not also invite my
aunt, she was there every day too. So maybe it'll just be you and your
mother and me, the very polite boyfriend.
I'd love it either way. It's nice to fall asleep listening to the water sounds, and it'll be nicer with you next to me. (And maybe your mom and aunt can come down to visit soon, or we could go up there? I don't want to leave them out.)
You're a really, really good man. We'll go visit them, maybe. You can get
weirdly excited about my childhood bedroom. And I'm really looking forward
to doing this with you and your mom. It shows our commitment.
